Stress is not just in your head. It lives in the body: tight shoulders, a clenched jaw, broken sleep, a system that never quite switches off. We help people of every age and walk of life calm that system down, gently and without judgement.
When life asks too much for too long, the body's alarm system stays switched on. Muscles brace as if for impact, breathing turns shallow, sleep gets lighter, and everything aches and irritates more than it should. None of this is weakness and none of it is imagined: it is a protective system doing its job too well, and like any system stuck on high alert, it can be helped to settle.
We see stress and anxiety in the body every day: tight necks and shoulders, jaw clenching and grinding, tension headaches, a tight chest and shallow breathing, an unsettled stomach, restless nights, flat energy, and aches that flare exactly when life is hardest. Sometimes there is a clear cause (work pressure, caring for others, illness, pain or loss) and sometimes there is no single reason at all. We look at how your body is holding it: breathing, posture, muscle guarding, sleep and energy, and shape care around calming the system: unhurried hands-on treatment, simple breathing and movement you can actually use, and realistic changes at your pace. We work alongside your GP or any other support you have, never instead of it.
A body stuck on high alert is a protective system overworking, not a character flaw. Once you can feel what it is doing, it becomes something that can be worked with.
An unhurried conversation, in confidence and without judgement, and a gentle look at how your body is carrying the load: breathing, tension, sleep and energy.
Progress tends to arrive quietly: deeper sleep, shoulders that sit lower, more room to breathe. Simple tools you keep, and a plan that flexes with your life.
An evening without the racing mind, a night of proper sleep, shoulders that finally drop when you exhale. Calm is not gone for good; the body can be shown its way back.
Everything is done with care and at a pace that suits you, and nothing is rushed or forced. The aim throughout is simple: that you feel in good hands, understood, and steadily better.
Stress & anxiety is one of the common problems we see; if yours looks a little different, one of these may fit better.
