News & reviews

What people say after a course of care with us, and a few notes on how the clinic works and why. Most people arrive here because someone told them about us, and that is still the best measure we have.

Becky was recommended to me as someone who has suffered for years with lower back and shoulder pain, repeated visits elsewhere which gave temporary relief but would need to be repeated every 6-8 weeks and occasional periods of total incapacitation having to lie on the floor for days at a time. Becky is extremely professional and thorough, and in my first appointment (a year ago) identified an issue in my right hip which was contributing to referred pain. Alongside massage she provides home exercises specific to my situation at each visit, I see her every 4-6 months and I have not needed to go back since! I cannot recommend Becky’s services enough.

Following a hip replacement I developed a very painful Achilles problem. I had tried a number of routes but nothing made any improvement, I still had the pain and lack of mobility. I was recommended to contact Dean at SPORTS CLINICAL in Bassingham. Dean got straight to the heart of the problem, within one session I felt so confident that he was the answer to my prayers. Having now had a few sessions with Dean I am walking better, back playing table tennis and now have such good mobility in my ankle joint and all without any pain. Dean is a master of his profession and I would recommend him to anyone.

Becky is extremely professional and very thorough. From the very first appointment I felt Becky had really listened and I could tell she made notes after every session. She takes a very detailed history and always asks at the start of the session if there are particular areas of the body you would like work on. Becky uses the full hour and finds sore muscles and works on them. It is an appointment I look forward to because it makes my body feel so much better.

Becky also provides exercise sheets concentrating on targeted areas.

Professional, thorough and diligent: all 3 definitely apply to Dean’s work at SPORTS CLINICAL. I started using him as a therapist back in 2013 as a result of a personal recommendation and since that point used him ever since and he has enabled me to make significant improvements in my running performance. In my view, his skills set him apart from other therapists and I continue to rate his treatment and long term approach, which looks to address the cause of a problem as opposed to just applying a ‘quick fix’. His attention to detail and approachability has maximised the effectiveness of treatment and I will continue to use his services and encourage others to do the same.

Becky helped me with a shoulder problem which I’d been suffering with for almost two years. The difference she made was incredible and I no longer have pain day to day. Would highly recommend SPORTS CLINICAL.

This certainly is a holistic and wholebody approach service Dean provides. Dean continues to go above and beyond, is very approachable and responsive. I am blown away with the results including significant health improvements be it, pain, chronic illness or stress levels. After being frustrated elsewhere I feel I’ve finally found someone that listens and now look forward to my sessions with Dean. I highly recommend.

If we have helped you, a few words left online means a great deal, and it helps the next person find us.

From the clinic

How we work, and why

Short notes on how the clinic runs, written to answer the questions we hear most often.

Two practitioners, one approach

Dean and Rebecca each have their own patients and their own way of working, and between them they cover a wide range of ground. What they share is the approach: understand the whole person first, treat the cause rather than chase the symptom, and be honest about what care can and cannot do. If one of us is better placed to help you, we will say so.

Why we do not put a booking calendar online

A calendar would be easier for us, but it would not be better for you. We plan each week deliberately, so that first consultations get the time they need and follow-up care lands when it will do the most good. Send us an enquiry with a rough idea of when you are free, and we will find you a time that works properly rather than one that simply had a gap in it.

The part you do between visits

The work in the treatment room matters, and so does everything that happens in the days after it. We tend to send people away with a small amount to do, and we keep it small on purpose: something achievable beats something ideal that never gets done. It is one reason we do not sell packages of a fixed number of sessions.

Looking after your records

Everything we hold about you stays with us. Your notes, your history and your consent forms live in our own secure system, encrypted, kept only as long as we are required to keep them, and never sold, shared or handed on to anyone without your say so.
