Back pain is one of the most common reasons people come to see us, and one of the most treatable. Whether it came on suddenly, has crept up over months, or keeps returning, we help people of every age and activity level get comfortable, confident and moving again.
Back pain can show up as a dull ache after sitting, a sharp catch when you bend or lift, stiffness first thing in the morning, or pain that spreads into the buttock or leg. It is rarely a sign of serious damage. Far more often the muscles, joints and nerves of the back have become sensitised, guarded or overloaded, and with the right help that settles.
We see the whole spectrum here: lower back pain and lumbago, mid-back and thoracic discomfort, sciatica and nerve-related leg pain, and problems involving the muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, discs and joints of the spine and pelvis. It may have started with sport, lifting, an accident or a fall, long hours at a desk or the wheel, pregnancy, or simply crept in gradually with no obvious cause. Whatever the story, we assess carefully, explain what we find in plain language, and shape care around you rather than around a label.
Most back pain comes from sensitised or overworked muscles and joints rather than damage. Understanding that is often the first step to feeling better.
Your first visit is a conversation and a careful look at how you move, not just where it hurts. We take time to understand the whole picture before anything else.
A clear plan, hands-on care where it helps, and simple things you can do yourself. Progress at your pace, reviewed and adjusted as you improve.
Gardening without paying for it the next day, lifting the grandchildren, getting back to the gym, or simply sitting through an evening in comfort. Whatever back pain has been taking from you, the aim is straightforward: to give it back.
Everything is done with care and at a pace that suits you, and nothing is rushed or forced. The aim throughout is simple: that you feel in good hands, understood, and steadily better.
Back pain is one of the common problems we see; if yours looks a little different, one of these may fit better.
