A few of the questions we are asked most often, about visiting us and about pain itself. If your question is not here, just call or text us on 07773 814488; we are always happy to help.
No. You can book directly with us; no GP referral is needed. We work alongside your GP rather than instead of them, and if anything falls outside what we do, or we suspect something that needs medical attention, we will always tell you and point you back to your GP.
Your first visit is a consultation, a careful assessment and a postural screen: time spent understanding you and how your body is moving before anything else. You can read the full picture on our What to expect page.
There is no fixed or forced number. Everyone is unique, and the time it takes is guided by how your body responds and heals, not by a set package. We work with how you progress, supported by small amounts of homework between visits, and review as we go.
Very possibly. We help with a wide range of issues, from specific injuries to long-standing pain and stiffness, for all ages and abilities. The best first step is a short conversation: tell us what is going on and we will be honest about whether we can help.
Yes. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian will need to be with you, and anyone is welcome to bring a chaperone if they would feel more comfortable; just let us know in advance so we can set up for it. Otherwise we ask that you come unaccompanied where possible.
Yes. There is on-site parking for your appointment, so you can arrive without any fuss.
Our aim is always comfort. Some hands-on work can feel firm, and now and then an area is tender, but nothing is forced and everything is done at your pace. We explain what we are doing and check in with you throughout.
Yes. Our practitioners are highly qualified, fully insured and members of recognised professional bodies, with many years of clinical experience. You are in safe, experienced hands, and you can read more about each of us on our practitioner pages.
The best way is to make your first contact through our online booking form. You can also call or text us on 07773 814488 if you prefer. We are based in Bassingham, near Lincoln, with on-site parking and easy access from the surrounding towns.
Just tell us as early as you can, by call, text or email, and your notice counts from the moment you send it, not from when we read it. With forty-eight hours’ notice or more there is nothing to pay. Inside that we do have to make a charge: half the fee between forty-eight and twenty-four hours, and the full fee under twenty-four hours or if we do not hear from you at all. If we can move you to another time in the same week, your payment moves with you. The full wording is on our terms of service page. We would far rather understand than charge, so if something has gone wrong, tell us.
Pain that lingers often means the underlying cause has not been fully addressed, only the symptoms. Sometimes the place that hurts is not the place the problem is coming from. Our approach is to look at how your whole body is moving and working, to find and settle what is actually driving it, rather than chasing the pain around.
It depends on what is going on, how long it has been there, and how your body responds. Some things settle quickly; long-standing problems usually take longer. Rather than promise a timescale, we work with how you progress and keep you clear on what to expect at each stage.
Pain often returns when only the symptom was treated and the underlying pattern, how you move, load and hold yourself, was left unchanged. Lasting relief usually comes from addressing that pattern, which is why we focus on the cause and give you simple things to help keep it from returning.
Exercise is powerful, but only when it is the right exercise for the actual problem. The wrong movements, or the right ones done while an underlying issue remains, can keep you stuck or even make things worse. Assessing first means anything you do is aimed at what is really going on. If you are ever unsure, it is worth having it looked at.
Sometimes, yes; minor aches often settle on their own. But pain that is persistent, keeps returning or is getting worse is your body asking for attention, and is worth having looked at rather than waiting. If you are ever unsure, or something does not feel right, it is always sensible to get it checked.
